The 58th GRAMMY Awards Ceremony on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 proved to be quite an unforgettable event as our recording Ask Your Mama (composed by Laura Karpman and performed under conductor George Manahan) took home two awards in the classical music category.
The first of these awards was presented for Best Engineered Classical Album and was accepted by Leslie Ann Jones, Director of Music Recording and Scoring at Skywalker Sound.
The next honoree to take the stage was Judith Sherman, who received the GRAMMY for Best Producer in the classical category.
As Leslie mentions in her acceptance speech, it truly did “take a village” of many talented, dedicated individuals to make this piece happen. The San Francisco Ballet Orchestra is immeasurably honored and thrilled to have been a part of it.
