Dana Jackson has served as 3rd Bassoon/Contrabassoon in the Seattle Symphony and Seattle Opera, and 2nd bassoon in the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra. In the 2023/2024 season she joined the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra. Ms. Jackson is a founder and the Executive Director of the Archipelago Collective, a summer chamber music festival on San Juan Island, WA. She has directed several commissions of new chamber music works that include bassoon, notably for the rare but lovely combination of harp and bassoon. Ms. Jackson holds degrees from the Colburn School, Northwestern University, and University of Southern California, where she studied with Richard Beene, Christopher Millard, and Judith Farmer, respectively. A West coast native, Dana enjoys spending her free time in the mountains as much as possible, backpacking in the summer, and skiing in the winter.
