Matthew Boyles, Clarinet

 

Matthew Boyles has performed with the San Francisco Ballet as an extra musician since 2016. Matthew also plays with various other Bay Area ensembles, including the Modesto Symphony, California Symphony, Monterey Symphony and New Century Chamber Orchestra. Also an avid chamber musician, he is a founding member of the San Francisco-based Vinifera Trio and is a series artist for the Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival.

While working on his undergraduate studies at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, he performed with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and the Louisville Symphony Orchestra. Matthew went on to complete his graduate studies at Temple University as a student of Ricardo Morales. Prior to moving to the Bay Area, he lived and worked in Philadelphia, performing with the New Haven Symphony and the Philadelphia Orchestra.

In addition to performing, Matthew is also an active educator as the adjunct clarinet professor at Napa Valley College and the lead wind teaching artist at Enriching Lives through Music, an El Sistema program in San Rafael, California.
