Michael Minor is acting 4th chair bass for the San Francisco Ballet for the 2019/2020 season. When not performing with the Ballet, Michael is an active freelance musician, performing regularly with the San Francisco Symphony, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and Chorale, Mendocino Music Festival, Santa Cruz Symphony, and many other groups throughout California.

He has played along some of the world’s leading emerging artists at the Rome Chamber Music Festival, the Aspen Music Festival and School, and Festival Domaine Forget in Quebec.

Michael received his degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music studying under Scott Pingel all while freelancing in the SF Bay Area. Michael maintains a private bass studio with many of his students reaching All-State level in both Texas and California, as well as winning positions in conservatories and universities around the country.
